EQUINE PAINTINGS

My favorite pastime when I growing up on a farm was drawing and doing paintings of horses.  My commercial art teacher told me I should get into a profession where I could do paintings of them as I always worked a horse into projects, even billboard illustrations.  A show at Chautauqua Institution provided my first sale while I was in art school, and it was a painting of a horse jumping.

I started showing my work at a local racetrack which led to an invitation to show and sell my paintings of racehorses at the Meadowlands in N.J. for 12 years. I also exhibited and sold my racing paintings at other racetracks which led to many commissions.  My work was on covers of magazines and commissioned by racetracks, as well as many of the best known owners of world champion racehorses.

My commissioned oil painting of the Ambassador Shires was unveiled at the Kentucky Horse Park, and presented to the former owners who resided in England.
